As backup, you can access the original USDA data in XML or Excel format. One of the requirements of the Apps for Healthy Kids contest is that this data set must be used in your game somehow (exactly how is up to you). A "readme" file explaining some of the fields can be downloaded in PDF or plain text format. All of the information in these is in the data package above, so this is backup information.
